What is Peace..?
An artist was asked to come up with a drawing that best define or express “Peace”…
Almost everyone was expecting a drawing of a calm lake, with cool breeze, singing birds……..
Rather, he came up with a drawing that shows a mountain…
And above the mountain was a dark sky with rain that is accompanied with thunderous lightning that strikes down on the mountain and its environs… (Scary)
Just beside the mountain was an unfriendly, foaming waterfall tumbling down…(Fearful)
Behind the unfriendly waterfall lies a small bush growing from a crack in the rock…
And in the small bush lies a nest built by a mother bird….
Right there in the midst of all these unfriendly elements of nature, the mother bird slept peacefully with her children without blinking…
Then I asked, what is Peace?
Peace in this context is an emotion of Faith….
This is not the kind of Peace the Government, the Police, the Military, the yet unsigned Budget or Money gives……It’s the kind of Peace that can “only’ be procured through our Faith and close relationship in/with God who is also the Prince of Peace .
With reference to Philippian 4:6-7, Peace of God does not necessarily means to be in a place with no Trouble, Disappointments, Backstabbing, Economic hardship, Fuel scarcity, Skyrocket-inflation rate, Kidnapping, Conspiracy……Rather, God is encouraging us this month not to be anxious(troubled) while assuring us of His “Peace that surpasses human understanding” to live through the moment and experience new increase…..
Welcome to the month of “Rain (Abundance) of Peace”
