OVERCOMING PROBLEMS OF LIFE

INTRODUCTION: When we experience any problem, it means history is merely repeating itself because there is no new thing under the sun. Problems are life experience examiner, and every time you solve one, another will surface.
Hence, problems are not strange to mankind; rather, one attitude determines how long you stay in a problem. Problems signify a situation that causes difficulties. There are different areas that people experience problem namely, spiritual, educational, vocational, personal social.
Spiritual guidance is concerned with actually knowing the creator, God, His will and the acceptable way to serve and worship Him. This is also connected with believing, trusting and excising faith in the word of God to overcome invisible world battles.
Educational guidance: pertains to areas of concern that involve educational development, this include effective study habit, making good grades in school, choosing the right career in institution for further education; coping with examination anxiety etc.
Vocational guidance is concerned with procedure that facilitate employment, the issues to be addressed involve – what occupation and jobs are available, what it takes to enter them, how a person can advance in career etc.
Personal social guidance involves private, personal and social – psychological concerns. Example include emotional disturbance, family problem, and interpersonal relationship problem, social adjustment issues, indiscipline, drug abuse, sexual problem etc.
NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS PROBLEMS
Victim mentality: This group of people interprets their problem through defeat angles. They are always conscious of problem where there is none.
Blame shifting mentality: this has been an age old nature of man e.g. Adam shifted the blame to eve and Eve to the serpent. In the same vein, students always shift blame for their failures to their teacher, parents lack of time, peers etc.
Pretence: most people will not accept the fact that they have problem. Thus secrecy fertilizes more problems.
POSSITIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS PROBLEMS
Identify the problem.                                                         
Be God conscious.
Remember your creator. Eccl 12.
Accept that you’re a sinner. romans 3:25
Confess and forsake your sins, Accept God’s offer of salvation JESUS and live for Him in order to reign with Him.
Take your problem to God in prayer. Think and confess positively. Have strong faith in God and His Word.
Conclusion: Outstanding people of today passed through one problem or the other. Their names are written in gold because they were solution finders. With faith in God, Victory over problems is guaranteed, john 5:4. It draws one closer to God. It creates an opportunity for one to grow, be mature take firm decision and be able to counsel others.
